Downrigger and Lure Running Depth

I was just wondering, if I have a lure that has a running depth of 5' and I put it on a downrigger to 20', is my lure at 25'? Let's assume I'm trolling at the ideal speed to get the lure to that depth and threre is no blowback from the downrigger ball.

Sounds right.  That is assuming you put at least 5ft of line out before putting on release clip.
