Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Is there something wrong with me?  I actually got along wonderfully with my mother-in-law.  Unfortunately she passed away years ago.  But then again, with her passing, less family visits means more time for fishing!

I wish I could have that but it isn't ever going to happen.
She was so out of control the other day I finally-after 15 years-told her to pull the stick out of her ..... and get off her high horse ....not very proud of it but my father in law wanted to know if I enjoyed it as much as he did...

Having been married once a buncha times, the in laws were always interesting. Never got along much with them. First wife I just pretended like I was sleeping on the couch every time there, second wife I just drank until I could tolerate them. Shoulda went fishing.....

Dad said before you marry a woman, take a long look at her mother.. because more likely than not she will grow into that...
If you would marry her mother, then marry her! Worked out for me.

That, would have been great advice, sixteen years ago!

How did this became the mother-in-law thread? In any case, here's my $0.02.

I get along great with my mother-in-law. The secret to this success is that she lives on the other side of the planet, doesn't speak English, and only comes to visit us about once every 3+ years.

MIL! :smt011 Had to get a restraining order to keep her away! Toxic human being :smt010 My sweet wife has no mom to complain to or snuggle with when things are hard. Makes me sad 'cause My mom is nuts (in a good fun way) has 3-4 boyfriends and hits the casino's etc all the time!!! Wish my sweetheart had a mom to fall back on when things got hard. She tries hard to be that Mom, for our kids though. Family :smt062 :smt052
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
