I'd just like to thank all the folks of ncka for giving me the knowledge and support that made 2006 the absolute BEST year I've ever had fishing! I grew up in a country enviroment in CT, so I probably caught my first fish over 40 years ago(I'm 45), but was so used to getting skunked as a common bank fisherman ( never liked the pier scene to much) I lost the madness. Then came last x-mass when Anita and myself bought a tandem malibu for ourselves, I took it out for sturg at bullhead flat, thinking I was the first(!) and lo and behold, I met a bunch of you out there, Chucke was the first, super friendly, praising my obviosly inadiquat set-up as being bad-ass, and then on the landing, where Anita was waiting for me, I saw all you yakers, JTF introduced himself ( Me, beer in hand, - "Wow, you guys have fish-finders, cool!!!)  John (the fisherman) told me of ncka and the madness returned. I still remember thinking" I got to met this Mooch dude!" , and that Duane dude is insane and what name am I going to give myself?!!
So thank you Bill and family, Sean and family, Tote and family, Mooch, Danglin, JTF, Bungle, Adam, EK, Mickfish, Jdyak and, well, everyone!
Even all you ignorant fools who dont think we're responsible for species extintion! Ha!
Just kidding, because I, a believer in thermo- dynamics and the will to live, can halfway agree with you, so please, no hate mail!!!, lets just try and slow that shit down if we can. Poor Chinese river dolphins...
Tight lines to all, and keep your powder dry!

NCKA is like having a second family, but more fun!!!! I have made more new friends in the past year than any year before.
Merry Christmas everyone. Here's to hoping we all have great fishing adventures and more friendships made in the coming new year.

:smt006  I'm in on this!!!!   Happy Holidays!!!!  Have to be PC..We are getting big...

When I first bought my kayak, I too had grown tired of bank fishing and the lack of assessable spots. I had friends with bass boats and ocean boats, but even that was more hassle than it was worth, and could not afford my own boat nor did I want the pain of it. I had wanted to try yakfishing afew years ago, but broke my shoulder, so another delay, Then the Hobie Outback...Perfect..except for my wife..." wait till we can afford it "...."That's why God created credit cards"..I thought and I had my Hobie..and my wife did not talk to me for a week :smt002

As  bad as I was to " disobey " my wife..It has been the best decision i have made in a long while.....even my wife has come to agree seeing how much I enjoy what I'm doing..I have had the best year ever fishing and have gotten to know the best people ever, and it's just starting. I am really excited about this coming year.

KayakFishing has changed my life, and I am really thankful to have met people who also love this sport.

Thanks to all who have made this venue possible and to all those who participate.

Merry X-mass and a very "Kayaky" New Year..... :smt006

Rock on my NCKA brothers and sisters. This was also my best year fishing thanks to all of you. Over 30 fishing trips, only got skunked once (san pablo res). Personal records on yellow fin 75# and yellow tail 30# (non yak) and rainbow trout 8# and striper 20 inch and a vermillion 8# for my son Mike. Special thanks to Chuck E, Bill, Mooch, Alien and Molbasser for their help and tournaments and fishing tips.
