Just looked at some footage from go pro 3 that I just got and the video was glictchy? Any thoughts? I'm using a Samsung micro sd and older mac book for editing.

Make sure you use a class 10 SD card. Copy movies onto your Computer. Sometimes it seems like the movies a little glitchy and if I pause it and Let the computer catch up… It plays better. If that makes any sense.  Editing video takes a lot of the computers resources.  I've found go pro studio to be so more glitchy. But it's free...
I don't have to worry about right now because my hard drive crashed and I can't even use go pro studio now :smt010

If you can, try playing the GoPro videos on another computer, preferably one that's newer or more powerful and see if theres any improvement. As Live2Fish said, Go Pro files are huge and playing/editing them consumes lot of resources and I find that older computers fail to keep up.

Try copying it to the H/D if you haven't already and playing it from there. That said, my older Macbook can't play raw H.264 files from the camera without stuttering. Use gopro studio to convert the files for editing, it helps but you still may have issues.

Depending on the settings for video capture, playing an "Unprocessed" GoPro video file will cause it to "flicker" because of the amount of data stored for each frame.

After you import the datafile, process and convert it, it should play fine.... Using the GoPro Cinema Studio program is a basic 1-2-3 process...(that's the short side of it; call me if you wanna know the LONG jist of it! :smt005)
