I like the idea of staying close to home but I don't think the salmon will be around.  Since halibut are already in the bay, I plan to concentrate on bottom fishing and crabbing.  EDIT->>>{err, I guess this post is unclear. I still plan on going to Linda Mar but my salmon expectations are low.  I will be halibut fishing and crabbing there.  If no one else posts that they want to join me I may skip it and just go clamming at Tomales Bay.)

I'm in for Linda Mar though I may dive; it all depends on the viz. I think I'll kayak in any case. As for salmon, it's doubtful, but someone's gotta get the first one! And I did see a few birds today (see my reply to HMB post under Fishing Reports).

Right On!... I'm bringing 4 crab traps, trolling gear for stripers/salmon, live bait rigs for halibut, and a sabiki rig.

I'm hungry and I'm coming home with something to eat   :smt106

If anyone needs crab bait, let me know.  I have a freezer full of rockfish carcasses saved up from last year.

I plan to be there around 5:30 so I can drop my traps early.

I"ll  be there  - I just got a call from Chris / CPYAK. He's fishing on the Hulicat and they are 17 miles off HMB. He caught  4 already.

Chris said he will be joining us at Linda Mar tomorrow.

Ben_Ca - we launch on the South side of the cove. We park right on the shopping center parking lot and launch right where the stream enters the ocean.

Ben_Ca,

Here is where we launch:

We park in the strip-mall seen at left center in the photo.  You can see the "stream" at the far left.

I see the post about where to launch, now wondering to go north or south from there?

Right around where the left-most house is.  If you enlarge the photo (click on it) you can see two surfers in the area.  It looks like it was high tide when the photo was taken so maybe a little farther to photo-right, where there is a gap in the wave, would work in that case.  Once you get there you can look and decide where is best.  Take your time landing.  Watch the swell pattern and time it well.
