We are starting with a family camping trip and ending with our annual Salt Point Abalone Dive and Feast with my college buddies.  Thursday afternoon and or Friday I plan to fish, probalby one day with my wife and daughter, possibly fishing, but definately paddling around.  Most of my buddies will be diving so any local NCKA company is welcome.  I could go to other nearby launches too such as Stillwater.  This is the first time I will be there with my fishfinder on the yak so I plan to be much more effective targeting the lings.

We plan to leave Monterey early on Thursday and arrive at Stillwater Cove (Sonoma) around 10 AM.  I will take the wife and kid kayak fishing for their first time there (they have paddled before).  We will camp at Salt Point and plan to fish out of there on Friday.  Saturday is still open but I will fish somewhere in the area.  If anyone wants to hookup, I will be off line after 5: today but you can meet us.  We have a blue Handa mini van with a yellow OK Scrambler and a light blue OK Malibu II probably also a couple of bikes on the back.  Thursday night we plan to be a Stalt Point, Girstle Cove campground and Friday and Saturday we will be at the group camp site.

Once at Salt Point a few years ago, I met a kayak fisher who clearly had much more experience than me.  He was very kind and offered me a swim bait on a lead head to try and even offered to let me tag along with him but I declined.  I used that lour several times and it worked good until I lost it to a snag.  Anyway that guy whoever he was clearly demonstrated the good nature that I have found consistently on the NCKA site.

I can't wait 3 days of fishing  :smt003

Hi Etienne,

There's a good chance I will join you this weekend.  Mind if I stay with you guys at your groupsite?  :camp  Probably leave the bay area early Friday afternoon.  Who's a contact person I can register with if you're not there when I arrive, so they don't think I'm a weirdo   :happy7:

Henry,

The person who reserved the group site is Robert DeOcampo.  If you tell the ranger at the kiosk that you are with the group that should be all that is needed.  We are a group of collage buddies who have been doing this annual trip since the 1980's.  While it used to be a fairly wild time, it has evolved to include wives and children and has mellowed significantly.  If I am not around when you arrive, just tell someone in the group that you are a friend of Etienne's and you should be welcomed.  It is a tent only group site and there are many individual sites nearby in case we fill up.  We have a massive abalone feast on Saturday night.  Those who do not dive are expected to assist with preparation (pounding, slicing, etc.) and contribute a side dish or desert.  Rob will be asking for contributions for the site fee.  It is really a more-the-merrier type of event.  I would be really happy to have someone else to fish with as most of my friends will probably be diving.  I expect that we will fish in the morning Friday and move to the group site in the afternoon.
