Last year I lost the top 2 segments of a 4-piece TFO fly rod in a freak accident.  I had a nice silver on while fishing the Russian River, a tributary of the Kenai.  After playing it a bit, I pointed my rod at it and shook it, trying to pop the barbless fly loose.  But it somehow broke the line.   As I walked back to shore to tie another fly on, I noticed the 2 top pieces missing.  I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but I'm guessing the leader knot caught a guide and pulled the tips out, which is probably why it broke my tippet as well.  I searched that river for quite a while looking for them, but they washed downriver somewhere, never to be seen again.  Too bad as the bite was hot and I didn't have another rod with me.  As it was the last day of a great trip, I just settled in on the bank and took it all in for a couple hours, while my buddies continued to catch the last fish of the trip.

As I'm gearing up for another Alaska trip, I decided to reach out to them to see if I could buy some replacement pieces.  They responded that I had a "no fault warranty" and to just send in the remaining pieces plus $30 for shipping and they'd make it whole again.  Received the complete rod back this week.  I'm totally stoked to put it back into action.

Anyways, totally unexpected and deserving of a shout out.  TFO ROCKS!!!

Customer service as impressive as being put in the top three fly rods of 2014 amidst a large field of mostly $500-$1000 wands, while maintaining a $350 msrp.

Yup, instead of paying $300 for a new TiCR X, I paid $30.
