This is what's left of our garage and carport in Baja after the hurricane.
You can see the boat under the tarp but to the right is where 4 kayaks and a windsurfer are buried
in the rubble of the garage. We are going down in 3 weeks to see if we can rebuild or call it a day.
The town got it a lot worse and our thoughts are for the locals. Just a tip...

Anything but concrete block is a temporary structure. Important to also have the roof secured as once it leaves the walls it is over. Building with concrete block is more time consuming and expensive but it lasts.

Glad to know I live in a "temporary structure"

Guess we all like on a "temporary planer" too :smt009

The house is in Bahia de los Angeles,or LA Bay to the gringos,on the Sea of Cortez.
The house is made of concrete block with hurricane shudders that bolt down tight.
The house is totally off the grid with solar panels mounted to the roof(hopefully).
There is also a sleeping palapa on the roof(hopefully).
There were 3 kayaks,a windsurfer with 2 sails and my beloved Mallotte in there, plus
tools, gas cans, fishing stuff, etc etc etc... Could have been worse... more pics later.
MAN, if those boats could talk... Just a tip...

hopefully that is the worse, our place in san felipe got off really easy, little flooding but no structure or tree damage, we have a lot of large mesquite trees on the property, and mom was out there pruning like crazy, but didnt get the huge winds as predicted, have a safe trip and hopefully the damage wont be to much when you get down there, cameron
