Don't know if Dillon beach is part of Sonoma Co, but on the far right of the beach is good for perch and RFs

I've seen people do well off Salt Pt. RF, greenlings, and even MFE in the coves just north of the Gerstle Cove parking lot.  Its rocky bottom and hard to get you rigs back.

One tip I got and it works, it to find a likely spot, where it looks deep just off the rocks and don't cast far, just flip it out there a bit so you're not trying to drag it too far to get it back.  Works.

Several of these places within a couple hundred yds north of the Gerstle Cove parking lot.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I fished the jetty at Doran Beach a month or so ago and, thanks to Rockhopper's tips, got into a few nice black rockfish. One other suggestion is the south end of Salmon Creek beach in behind Bodega Dunes SP.  Its all sand with some nice troughs and cuts that hold perch. Otherwise, Salt Point is probably your best bet. You can even spend a whole day cruising from day use spot to day use spot along HWY 1 from Bodega to Jenner and fishing any little rocky outcrops you see. Lots of grassies and kelp rockfish along that stretch.

P.S. - Dillon Beach is in Marin County.

FYI, the road that goes near the north jetty was closed last weekend when I tried to access it. We still could have made it, but it would have been more of a trek than we bargained for. Ended up fishing off the Doran side jetty for a bit, with minimal luck (few little tap taps, but nothing stuck). I used a drop shot type rig with a shrimp fly tipped with squid, and dropped it into lots of promising holes down by my feet.

I was unfamiliar with it when I saw it a few weeks ago, but lots of guys were using a Carolina rig with soft plastics off the Doran jetty. They said that the rigging gives the plastics a more natural movement in the current. I stuck with a white swimtail grub and tempted a few nice blacks.

There's also a really good spot just after Jenner, there's a side parking spot look for an open area on the west side of the road just after the big bend. To get to the fishing spot you have to hike a trail, then proceed down a cliff. You can fish to the right on some rocks or to the left on a giant boulder .best time to fish there is low tide.
