Keith, I have an Aquan gift card. Is it still good?

I'm sad to see OK going away from that location but stoked to have CCK a block away from one of my offices.  I'll be around Friday to see about those discounted OK's.

Hojoman and all - Short answer, a qualified "yes"; but, there may be horse-trading involved! Please remember from my long post: "CCK did NOT buy Aquan Sports; rather, the transaction was an asset purchase only." Gift cards are liabilities, not assets. CCK accepts no responsibility for them. Having said that...

...as goodwill I am honoring them on a case by case basis. I honored an $80 one three days ago. I don't want to see anyone stiffed because of the purchase and neither does Vince. There is a major problem however: the scanner at the shop may not read the value on the card. I found this out on the card mentioned above. We had no way of knowing what was on it. The customers thought $100 but were not sure. I read them as being sincere and stepped in when the card could not be scanned. Through a bit of sleuthing I found out the card was issued due to a merchandise return over a year ago so, after identifying the items returned, settled on $80 as the value on the card. They were very happy with the solution. Case closed.

It is my desire to make these good. If anyone wants a cash redemption they need to deal with Vince directly. I spoke with him this morning on this issue and he told me he has a data base on which he hopes they are all recorded. Key word is "hope".

My suggestion, bring in any gift cards ASAP. The longer they linger the less likely they will be able to be redeemed. If Vince wipes his computer clean which eventually he will, there will be no recourse.

Guys, get down there if ou are looking for a smoking deal on an OK Kayak.  prices were unreal.  I don't think you will be disappointed.  Just could not find what I was looking for.

I went back and picked up the blem P15 I was eyeballing when you were there, Kevin.
