wells, how about one more time?  Looks to be nice weather again and low morning winds, so I'm gonna do BH this Saturday.  I think Gary (SandMan) is in also.

7am arrival, and yes, I will have my camera out on the water...  Good fun and fishing both!
Yes, pumpkinfest, but who cares.  I'll just take PCH home.  Hope to have some good fish by noon, and off early.

Hope to see some others out there!

I'm in and will make sure Craig secures his car keys before we launch.  We plan to fish early and hard so we don't get stuck in traffic with the pumpkin fiends in HMB.  I'm going to follow Craig's lead and hope he gets us on the halibut.  We're trying to close out the season the way we started it...with quality fish.  Channel 69 for those who have radios.

You'll get traffic even at noon. It took me two cycles of the light at 92 and 1 coming up from the Hollow last week around 1400. And last week was nothig compaed to the crowds you'll ge tthis weekend. Going over 84 or farther down  even to 17 might be wise.

Ditto on what the Marmot says. IMHO this weekend ISthe weekend to use 84 on the return trip home, regardless of where you're headed. Ok, if you're going to Santa Cruz, then HWY 1 is better...

92 was a parking lot in both directions last Sunday at 15:00. And it wasn't the festival weekend. HWY 1 in HMB was also quite slow, again in both directions.

Good luck! I'm heading up to Auburn, so no salt love for me this weekend. I might get a shot at some fall LMB action from a float tube though.

Good luck Scott!  Thanks for the input.  I may try 84 this weekend, if nothing else, for the fun of the drive.  My Mazda 3 likes those twisty roads!  (But not so much the RV's in front of it then.)

Ed and Mary, I have caught 'buts on both diamond bars (4 oz, a la Mooch) and 7" swimbait.  Both times tipped with fresh squid slices squiggled up the hook.  Got the squid fresh from 99 Ranch.

You can get live bait out there (jacksmelt usually) if you bring a sabiki rig (#10 or 12 should do).  If you keep it on the bottom, that should work too.

Hope to see y'all out there!

You can also catch a Kingfish/Croaker on bait and use that. That's what I got my first Lingcod on last weekend at the Hollow and if I had my choice for any predatory fish, I'd use live bait.
