Has anyone launched in the wildlife area and paddled over to the Mokelumne and cusumnes for salmon fishing?  If so, how is this?  Worthwhile?

Last Saturday a pal did, launched in the wildlife area and paddled over to the Mokelumne and cusumnes for salmon fishing timed for the change of the tide. He took two fish, but the them fish were a bit to turned for my taste anyways. Good luck!
