I have been working 12 hours a day all week last week so on Saturday morning I talked the wife into letting me go out Sunday to get some well needed water Therapy. She gave me the green light so got the boat ready for a day of fishing Sunday.
Pushed off around 0530 and I was treated with a beauitful morning out on the bay. Got under the GG Bridge and it was flat ike a lake. Turned the corner of Pt. Bonita and headed towards Rocky Point. Dropped in about a half mile short of Rocky Point. Marked lots of bait and within 45 minutes I got the first fish on. Got him into the net with no broblem. Dropped back down and trolled for an hour until I finally hooked the go home fish. This little fiesty one did not want to join his cousin that's in the ice chest. I finally got him into the net after a few runs.
Both fish came on Green RSK with anchovie and a red Sling Blade, 70' h2o and 35' OTW. Beautiful ride coming back. Both fish are now sitting in the brine ready for the smoker tomorrow. Wife gonna make some sinigang soup for tonight. Life can't get any better than this.

Saw your report on coastside, nice

Looks like classic september northside fishing, dying to get out there but seems like I'll be sitting most of the season out except maybe another short trip or two to HMB

Blows bigtime watching a decent season go by

Wild guess, but sinigang must be fishhead soup?

Nice fish!  If anybody has a good fish / salmon head soup recipe to share, I would love to see it.  Have a couple of heads that will be either crab bait or soup, and I'd prefer the latter.

Thanks,
Wild Oar

For salmon the first thing we eat is head and carcass

When you filet leave some meat on the bones
Clean up the inside of the head
Salt everything and slather w olive oil and put it in a hot oven until it browns
Pull it out and pepper it and more salt if it needs it

Wouldn't mind seeing a basic sinigang recipe
