Been trying to figure out how far off the coast the fish are, based on the vague coordinates on Coastside (e.g.: 15/37 - "right off Pescadero").  I can get a sense based on MapTech's nautical maps...

Maptech GPS Entry

takes you to

Salmon off Pescadero

showing the following:

which seems pretty far -- but how far?  Using a distance calculator (FCC GPS to Distance) shows 11 miles.

Too far for me...

That distance is about right and the fathom line is spot-on - 50.  I don't think the fish up here are close yet.  Danevport Landing Beach might be worth a try.

It is a haul to the 30 fathom mark from Davenport.  Stu, Joel, Chuck and I tried from there last year.  It is probably 3-4 mi one way to the 30.  The big problem is getting to the fishing grounds early enough so you maximize your fishing time.  With these long paddles, you need to get on fish right away b/c you need to paddle in early or risk the winds coming up.
