I've decided to build a rod to raffle off at the Elk Tournament with proceeds donated to KFASC.

I figure with all the work they are doing to lobby for kayak fishing interests to the MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force, it would be an appropriate donation to make from our rockfishing tournament on the coast.

Now the question is... what kind of rod to build?

Mooching?  Live bait?  Rockfishing Jigging rod?  Striper plugging? etc...?????

Any suggestions?

Erik,

This is a very cool gesture on your part.  I'm sure everyone would be happy with any rod you decided to raffle.  Thanks.

My "vote" would be for either a rockfish jigging rod or a live bait/halibut-type rod.

Erik,

SWEET!!!!!

Since its a ling/rockfish tourney, a med/light action rockcod stick would seem appropriate, but I don't think anyone would complain which ever type you decide.
