It looks like the water is pretty flat this weekend and the wind should be manageable. I'd like to try again for some ling cod or salmon. I'm thinking half moon bay or doran is not too long of a drive for me. Anyone have intel or general suggestions on which way to go? I read it's the ab opener and some places might be crowded. I might go farther north if it was really worth it. I'm looking for a good novice location with easy launch. (No sand tires) :smt009

Shelter Cove is a good spot, but it doesn't look to be very flat there this weekend, and it may be too far for you.

Anywhere you launch out of I think it's important that you go with someone who's done it before.  Salmon trolling offshore is nothing to just go for after getting some advice on the forum.

Lingcod is one word, BTW.  Good luck out there.   :smt001

Salmon try rio vista. I'm going out tomorrow early for a couple hours to catch some of the incoming tide. My buddy reported 2 sea lions out there so the salmon are really starting to push through. My buddy went out this morning and spotted a lot of salmon jumping and the 2 sea lions working the area. I was out last week and saw 4 salmon jump. We got one nice chrome 20# hen.

That's good to hear. I do want to make a strong effort to get some inland salmon this year. I also hope to get one in the salt water as well.

I was on PB yesterday.  Big hogs.  Smallest was 15lb.  About couple miles outside of Stistion Beach out the south side.

Muir is an easy launch as long as there's no west or south swell, same for Bolinas. Salmon scattered all over that area right now, just have to find them.

Another good launch is Linda Mar but nobody's reporting so can't say about salmon. I'd scout it but no time. Lings and cabs etc right out at Pedro Pt, short paddle
