Went out to Lake Natoma (never fished there before) on Sunday 7/20/14 for my very first kayak fishing adventure. Launched at Willow Creek and fished near Willow Creek for couple of hours in the morning with my son using soft plastics (mostly 4 inch senko). Had few bites, lost a couple and landed this one below. If anyone has some tips please share. :smt001 Can't wait to get back on the water.

Nice! Welcome aboard!

No specific tips for that lake, but for Senkos I usually go with the bigger ones. If you're getting bites, you're already doing something right!

I live minutes from Natoma but never have fished it.  Might have to make an evening trip next week after 4.  I am a descent bass fisherman so maybe we could join up some time and figure out the lake.  I usually get out somewhere Tuesday evening, so if you want to go just let me know.  I can be at the lake by 4:30 or so.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Thanks for the report and glad to see you were rewarded for your efforts. I've heard that it can be a really tough place to fish. I kayaked and did a little exploring there a few weeks ago and it looked plenty fishy if you can get away from the mass of humanity around the Aquatic Center. I even cruised over a few really nice bass hanging in rocky pools just up from the dam on the north side. Glad to see that they can actually be caught !

Sorry I usually work evenings. I'm planning to go back out there on Saturday morning at six and explore damn area.

When I went out there with my wife and son last Saturday just paddling, I talked to couple of guys on a boat bass fishing and they said they usually do pretty good. So I decided to do some fishing with my son next day.
