SCBBBC (Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club) is having their "State Classic" bass tourney @ Clear Lake Oct 6/7.  This will be the first year it will be open to kayaks.  Seems like they usually get at least 50 entries.  You will need some way to keep your fish alive for weigh-in.  Here is a link to more info:

Thanks for the heads up on the tourney. Keeping the fish is the spoiler for me, as far as the tourney goes, but ill get out there and enjoy all the non-fuel powered fishing craft and hope that a kayaker brings it home.

H2O,

I rigged up a livewell out of a Rubbermaid tote, some vinyl tubing, and a bilge pump.  I run it off the same battery that powers my FF.  It could probably safely hold up to about a 6-7 lb fish, anything bigger goes in my 'emergency' wire fish basket that I keep onboard until needed (unfortunately, I havn't needed it yet!) :smt009  You can see a similar tote in my avatar (right behind the seat).  I bought 2 the same size and switch back & forth as needed; 1 for the livewell and 1 that seals up for use in saltwater.  They both wedge nicely between the 'gunnels' of my Hobie.

Belly boats use a mesh or wire follow-me bag.  Kickboats generally use an ice chest that has been modified with a bilge pump and/or bubbler.  The rules for this tournament stipulate that anything with oars (i.e., kayak) must use the ice chest variety...
