Went up to Lake Siskiyou earlier in the week to get my wife on a kayak.  She recently retired and has decided she would like to get a kayak and occasionally go fishing with me.  I rented a Revo 13 from CCK to try out and my wife used my Outback.
We had a lot of fun.  She loved the Outback.  I was unimpressed with the Revo.  It felt cramped to me and didn't have the fishing amenities of the Outback.  Also, it didn't have turbo fins and I had to pedal twice as much to keep up with my wife the Outback with the turbo fins.
The trip was mostly about getting my Marcia used to kayaking though we did catch a few small bass.  Other boaters were getting easy limits of trout.  The weather was a bit warm but beautiful

That is great that you got your wife out on the water!  Even when I had an extra Outback my wife would never go, she has never been out on any of my boats either........oh well.

Very cool!  It's (mostly) always nice when the wife tags along.

I have a picture from the exact same spot:

Great pic!!  :smt044

One of the reasons that I was attracted to my wife is that she likes to fish.  She says she won't go one the salt with me when I start that in the kayak.  And, she mostly wants to fly fish, which I pretty much suck at

I love my wife dearly but part of going fishing for me, is about getting the hell away from her and having fun with the guys. If my wife ever took up kayak fishing, I might quit.

I hear ya there.  But I'd rather take her kayaking with me than go to crochet class with her  :smt003

My kids grew up at Lake Siskiyou.  We went up every year for 2 weeks for 17 years.  Sad though, the kids grew up and moved on with their lives.  So did their mother!! :smt001
Now, my wife and I go up every few years and rent a cabin.  Fishing is usually great and the staff is wonderful.  The original Black Bear restaurant is in Mt. Shasta and the food is good.
Thanks for the memories!!

Always a good time when the little lady goes...mostly:) I got her hooked on paddling!  But she don't care much for the salt either!  We  were up in the area this spring.  Took a trip to McCloud.  Love that area!

Lake McCloud reservoir...north east of Redding near Mt Shasta.  Put it on your list!
