Are there any suggestions on where to fish and how to fish for black bass in the Sacramento or Delta area?

I'm sure the sac crew will chime in here, and they will help you get your game going
If you have time when the weather cools, come down to Fresno and I'll be glad to show you around the San Joaquin river ;0)

Top water just before low tide.  Run in over submerge grass or structures.   Frog, buzzbait,  poppers are producing now. Have a senko ready if a bass misses your top water.  Consumnes River Preserve offers good bass fishing and no pressure from power boats there.

The best location for the Delta is the Delta I have found bass everywhere I have fished there. My favorite technique right now is top water. Example frog fishing, buzz baits, bubble pops, and Zara spooks. Most top water baits. In the heat of the day too. If the water is dirty imagine that in the delta :smt044 I like large plastic creature baits and large worms, yea the Senko is OK too but I go LARGE Senko's You can also go small baits. I also like to dead stick the bait. Meaning cast it let it set for a while. Basically you just have to keep a selection of gear and figure it out as you go. But the Delta has fish everywere.

Good luck

All the lures mentioned will work. Lots of techniques work on the delta but keep it simple first . Frogs, buzzbaits, senkos and Chatterbait should get you into some action. Be patient in learning the tides, certain areas produce better in a certain tide phase . Fish an area through both the high and low tides so you can see when they bite in that area. Good luck !

Thanks for your replies. I'll have to get out and try to hook some of those feisty fighting bass.

I've had the most success with low tide going to high tide. Top water has worked great for me during that time. I use to be a die hard senko guy using June bug, watermelon, or pumpkin colors. But have had more success with baby brush hogs. My favorite color sprayed grass. Hooked up with two tree shakers back to back weeks on that color. Absolutely love fishing for lg mouth bass.
