Well I'm one of those lurkers that's often read about all of the  adventures NCKA members have enjoyed.   It's time to brave the elements!!  That's my way of saying I would like some advice from the experts on a way to get started ocean fishing in a kayak.  I'm pretty familiar with the ocean as my brother and I have done a fair amount of fishing out of Monterey in his power boat.  I maybe too old for this but I would like to give it a try.  I'm 63 years old, 6 foot and a swarthy 230 lbs.  Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome kelpkutter   :smt006 You're going to love kayaking. Learn self-rescue, get the safety gear, and get out there.
see you on the water, Amos

Never to late. Welcome aboard.

Search for self rescue, waves/wind and protective clothing.  They have all been covered in depth on this forum.

Other fishing techniques are similar to boat or shore and can be tweaked later.

Welcome!  There are a few of us retired guys in the East Bay.  Watch for our hook-ups after you get the safety stuff handled.

Thanks for the welcome.  When I get close to getting a kayak I will need the experts to steer me in the right direction.
