HMB 20June w/ new member-FishOn650

Was on a family camping trip at HMB State Beach. Broke away Friday morning to met my friend and brand new member FishOn650 at Pillar Pt. He lives local, I don't. Launched in harbor paddled out to first green can and dropped shrimp flies on reef for his first ever kayak fish (average size blue rockfish). I picked up 4 rockfish and a ling. On the water about 2 hours, fished 15-35' w/ flies and 5" swim bait (caught the ling and a quality blue on swim bait). Full sunshine, wind picked up and we were out.

Short trip but success was ours. He caught first kayak fish and I took enough back to camp for a great fresh fish lunch for the family.
