Was thinking about hitting Santa Cruz this Wednesday for some rockfish. I've never fished there. Can anyone give me some pointers for where to go to have a productive day?

Thanks so much.
Dave

Just head straight out to the mile bouy, you'll be able to hook up there

Awesome. Thanks so much!
You're talking about the whistle buoy right out from the small craft harbor right?

You can't go wrong with the mile buoy as suggested. But, if you want to paddle/pedal just a little farther, there are a lot of rockfish off of lighthouse point. Lingcod and halibut are caught in that area too.
There's always money in the banana stand.

If you see a guy out in a yellow kayak with a huge compass on his deck go over and say hi he's a nice guy and might give you some pointers.if I remember he goes by the handle Dc you can try and pm him to see if he's gonna be out there
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it
