Those long rapalas & similar crankbaits with 3 treble hooks... are they legal?  They're not as far as I can tell; however, I'm hoping someone has evidence otherwise?

I believe they are legal. People troll those broken back rebels in the delta everyday. I think it counts only as one hook since it's all on one lure.

Hope some one else can confirm for sure...

I believe they are legal for most fish like bass, stripers, halibut etc.., but not salmon or rockfish/lingcod which are only allowed two hooks.

your question is incomplete fuzz.

legal for what? as a weapon of self defense? for striper? for halibut? for rockfish? what?   :smt002

I remove one hook if fishing for rockfish.

otherwise, leave 'em all on there, like for striper or halibut or whatever.

you'd have to put on two barbless J hooks for salmon.

that is my interpretation.

It was just a general vague question  :smt003

I know the rockfish 2 hook limit, salmon barbless J, etc.; however, I've also seen signs at lakes where they say "no more than 2 hooks" or similar verbage.  Was just wondering if there was a blanket guideline.

Thank you all for the input.   :smt001
