I turned 50 yesterday, took the day off.  After sleeping in and having a breakfast of a Jalepeno Cheese bagel with Thai Basil, spinach, tomato, cream cheese and smoked salmon (left over from last fall), don't knock it, it rocked! The surf:  Moving at a turtles pace I went down to HMB Francis beach to try my hand at surf perching, or was that casting into the wind? more of the latter than the former.  No fish were caught but I watched the waves coming, watch some surfers.  Had a good time.  Tide was coming in, and the waves were definetly coming in larger and from further out, no way my little 8 foot rod was going ot toss it that far out, so I called it a day, packed up, and went home.

The turf: Now I had a few hours to go  so I grabed my range bag and my glock box, and headed over to Jackson Indoor Range in SSF.  I fired up some 200 rounds of 40 and 9mm.  I have a conversion barrel for my Glock 22 and dropped it in for the first time and shot up some rounds with that.  If you are on the fense for one of these go for it, worth the money!  No issues, I was able to load 9mm into the 40 mags and the fired without issue, ejected without a problem.  The guy next to me was also shooting  glock and I let him try out the 9mm conversion and he in turn let me fire a few round of buck shot out of his 12 ga.

I know 200 rounds is not a lot of ammo, but I had to get going home ot clean up for dinner.  Jan was taking me to the Lobster Shack place over in Redwood City to meet with my Aunt Uncle.  We had Steamed Clams (aka "Steamers"), with clam broth and butter, fried clams, Lobster rolls (the best way to eat lobster IMHO, no mess no waste) Blueberry Cobbler with icecream and washed it down with Allagash White Ale.  A gift a fishing trip, a fly fishing lessons, and bottle of the new Woodford Reserve Double Casked Bourbond.  After waddling my butt out of there, we parted ways and went home.  I cracked open the bourbon and par took of a glass and watched a movie and went to bed.

It was a nice way to break in 50!
