I was sitting around waiting to go clamming and the neighbor walks over and asks if i want to go fishing.
What's a guy to say? Heck yes! We hopped on his baja bayrunner and put a nice 15lb yellowtail in the box then a nice bonita and couldn't keep the squid off the lines.Sashimi, last night, yellowtail tonight. Anyone know of a good way to prepare the squid? I've heard of soaking it in milk and baking soda so that's what we're going to try later.                  Just a tip...

This recipe for jumbo squid was given to me by a panguero a few years ago:

Cut mantle into thick strips about 3 inches wide.

Place one strip onto large bait hook and catch yellowfin tuna.

Prepare YFT in favorite recipe and enjoy with cold cerveza.

What type of clams and scallops are you diving for? I camped in Mulege once and dove for ice cream scallops.
They were these very large ice cream cone shaped shells buried in the sand. Muy bueno   :smt007
I'm very envious of your trip.

The scallops are rock scallops and found close to shore and not very deep at all. The clams are small cockles and are everywhere on sandy beaches. We go to the estuary and can get a 5 gallon bucket full in about 1 hour using a garden claw tool and digging about 3" down. Yellowtail are being elusive but bonita are plentiful.
What's that they say about the worst day fishing? :smt003 Just a tip....
