I'm with ya on having to let water in to cool down.
I bet as soon as you did it you thought F#CK that's cold!
+1 on getting a 5mm next time too. Imagine how much less weight you'll need too.
I too waited way too long to get a freedive suit.
Worth every penny.

It was an old catamaran trailer that a friend sold to me for 100 bucks, I think.  I cut the tongue down, cut off the rollers and stuff, rewired it, and built a box on it out of some old redwood from my neighbors fence (that I helped him take down).  Its really easy to convert any old light boat trailer to something like this.

What's funny is that on the day I finished I left it out front of my house.  When I came back it was sitting there mostly demolished.  My neighbor's son with his giant pickup didn't see it and ran into it.  I had to rebuild it again.  The kid paid for all the stuff.  He's a nice kid, but I couldn't figure out how he missed seeing a trailer.

I have left many things in the car after getting to the dive spot.  It's a natural thing to do. :smt010  (that's what I keep telling myself)
I really enjoyed reading your report.
