Two words..... Ugly Stick
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Two words..... Ugly Stick

I agree!  Caught more species of fish on my UglyStik Lite 6.6.  Bigguns too!

Broke 3 of the same Ugly Stik Lite 6.6 rods.............

With the damn garage door!  :smt012

They are not supposed to be bent 180 degrees tip to tail in such a short distance.
However, three different Fred Meyers were more than willing to replace free of charge even after I made it clear that it was totally my fault.
They insisted, when all I was going to do was purchase another.   Not going to argue with that!   :smt007

At least you still have your broken rod. I lost an ugly stick to something big at Clear Lake. Was fishing the rocky outcrop next to the beach at the Clear Lake State Park and was battling something huge with my ugly stick at the other end of the line. I slipped on the loose rock, fell down and let go of my rod, never to be seen again. Last month, my nephew lost a fishing rod to a 10-lber trout at Lake Amador. The trout suddenly sprinted and it simply yanked out the rod from his hands.

The one at Clear Lake, the drag was set to fighting the big fish. When I am about to fall to the rocks, I have to let go to use both of my hands to cushion the fall or else get broken bones.

The one with my nephew, it's his first time fishing for trout, and that trout was big, with a drag set for 4-lb pull on an 8-lb line. I usually set my drag to about half the rating of the line.
