An inexpensive aluminum shaft retractable handle. Big 5 for like 45 bucks. Light and if you lose it it aint no biggie. What a great kid!

What is your experience with the color of the hoop? Do unpainted silver ones spook the salmon more than the painted black ones? I am debating whether to paint mine flat black.
