Not to be confused with Monday's Hike and Dive!

 :smt003

Obviously everything depends on conditions, but on Friday I plan on paddling North in the morning...basically whenever I wake up (back corner by zilla) and make it down to the launch.

 :smt005

Anybody who feels like paddling and exploring is welcome to join!

My "plan" is to paddle up North and then work my way back towards launch. Diving wherever conditions are best and safest and where there is good kelp to clip off to. Target will be abs, uni and fishies to share with camp.

I'll have radio on CH69, but obviously won't answer when I'm in the water.  :smt004

WARNING: Once I get in the water I'm a crappy dive partner so if you like having someone to dive close with you may want to bring a buddy...

Also, yes you can shore dive many spots along the stretch between the lighthouse and Abalone Point and beyond, so if you don't feel like paddling a couple miles each way that would be your better bet.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...No secret: in past years we've found a bunch of 9-9.5 inch abalone just south of Abalone point and many smaller legal abalone just at the base of the trail down to the water from the lighthouse. The abs were on rocks on the bottom.  :smt003

What day?  If I'm there I would definitely love to come along.

I'm probably going to be diving and fishing on Friday weather permitting.
Not sure of when and where though.........I'm definitely interested in this paddle though.
Can you announce your launch on the radio since I may already be on the water?

Not sure when Laura and I will arrive, but I am planning on getting in the water on Friday. I'll call out on 69 and see who is still close by. I really want to break the 9" mark and shoot a respectable fish!

I'll be diving Friday morning, but most likely will opt for a shore dive so I can spend more time with friends and family and setting up.  Keep your fingers and toes crossed,  long range forecast looking GOOD!
