I have been perusing the threads on the board, seeing what people use and don't use on their Yaks.

I will be doing 98% fresh water with a fly rod, heck I don't even own a spinning or bait cast rig ( at least I haven't in the last 30 years).  I have pretty much decided that with just a few additions of say a whistle, dry bag, and a small ice chest for drinks. I'm only going to carry what i had on my float tube and PFD Fishing vest.  Go Pro, two boxes of flies (wet, dry, nymph and bass poppers, some leaders, hemostats, knife, nail clippers, dry fly goop, fly rod holder, small first aid kit, my id, fishing lic, keys and cell phone. Depending on where and when either waders or a thin one piece wetsuit.  I have never been one for electronics  and I am a cheap bugger so I probably will never own a fish finder unless someone gives it to me. :smt003

Next Sunday will be the first time out in my yak unless I get the early shift on Wednesday and get my butt in gear to hit one of the local lakes by 3pm
never met a Dry Fly I didn't like

I take way less stuff when I fish in my yak compared to what I take when I go in my boat, does that make me a minimalist too?   :smt003
What lakes do you fish?
Fishing is cheaper than therapy!

Growing up we used to ride our bikes on the levees and make cane poles or use handlines, then we would dig around for worms or catch grasshoppers for bait. Those days are gone baby! Now I think I'm a minimalist with my fancy fly rod and imitation bugs. LOL, I do think you can catch plenty of fish without electronics though :smt003
