 :smt009Hello. I'm a diver and sort of kayak angler. Hooked into my first sturgeon on the yak last yeast. Lost it but fell in love, now the more I go out the more I want to. Caught one keeper on it so far and a few undersized. I live on the Sac Delta and can launch my yak out of my back door. Here's the first one from last year.

Welcome to NCKA.  That was an action video that ended too fast!  Gotta let your fish run and tire - when you were cranking down your drag while the fish was pulling I was freaking out!!   

Sorry to be a critic - way to hook it and get it to the boat, and way to get it on video.  Well done!

I know I did just about everything wrong on that fish I could. First sturgeon ever hooked. Got a good rod and reel now, and have learned how to do it. Going to make a video of this years keepers.

Before that all my fish were striper from my dock. I didn't know what I was getting myself into! But that's what got me hooked. Now I have 80# braid and carry my dive knife on me incase I go in and get wrapped. The keeper I got was only 47"ish. Towed me a ways but nothing like this guy probably would have if I had an anchor drop and braid!
