Anyone make foam filled kayak (like Whaler)?

Stuffing pool noodles into a kayak reminds me of the old days when cars didn't come with seatbelts.  Why doesn't someone make a kayak with lightweight closed cell foam already in it so the thing is unsinkable like a Boston Whaler boat?

The early Malibu Extreme and maybe Pro Explorer had foam.  Not sure what the drawbacks were, but I'd imagine that trapped moisture may have factored in to design changes...

Noodles are easily managed - I put twenty of them in seal-a-meal material and I've done just over zero maintenance on them in years.

The old Malotte SOTS were bulkheaded and filled with foam. The red one I currently own and will be fishing from this summer. The foam was in a rigid hull basically. Not much flex.

Doubt it, but they protect the noodles enough to keep them from getting funky.

I'll take it all apart soon and report back...

You can fill your kayak with expanding foam.
