4-16-14 Norcal Sportfishing

short version, fished at 59 and 02 out of santa cruz with co-worker ben and his two boys, on board khanh tran's boat, the connie t, just west of soquel hole, stuck 5 salmon, four on a blue dancer hoochie and one on a purple haze hoochie, four were 7-10 pounds, one slug of a salmon came in at 19 pounds, swells, 6-9 feet, no wind on the water until noon, had a great day fishing and a great dinner afterwards.

here's the connie t!

meet our skipper, khanh tran.

meet josh (left) and his older brother jake.

out of the santa cruz harbor at 6:30am.

and passed out by7:30!

meet ben!  when you have kids that can get seasick, it helps to have a pharmacy degree.

jake didn't land his fish.

but josh got his.

and ben stick a 19 pound toad!

another awesome day with http://www.northcalsportfishing.com/

i brought home the smallest fish and had a great dinner this evening.  we had salmon 5 ways.  the first was sashimi.

the second was salted and broiled salmon collars.

the third was poki salmon.

the 4th was oven broiled salmon with olive oil, coarse ground salt and coarse ground pepper.

and the 5th was a care package of salmon filets for roger and jeff.

had a great dinner, thanks to khanh and ben!

As much as I love sashimi, it is hard to beat a good poki.  So jealous of that beautiful bounty!
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Great skipper you got there!  Captain Khan seems to always find the fish.  Congrats on a great day and thanks for the salmon porn.

Great pics. And now I'm hungry. My wife likes the collars. But I'll take an order of sashimi.

Thanks for sharing!
