The first time I visited the Hobie Cat factory in Oceanside I was amazed at all the cool and crazy ideas this guy came up with. Side by side mirage drive tandem kayaks, airplanes, gliders, ect. A true pioneer and waterman.

What a man,what time to be alive and do what you love and share it with the world,what a legend. SO COOL! I've owned a couple of his products and it was the best of times!            R.I.P.

Wow, very sad. But what a legacy -- a true innovator. RIP Hobie Alter.
