Crab pot rigging on a sea kayak?

I've recently bought a 16 ft Necky Kyook sea kayak for recreational paddles. I'm wondering if anyone has ever rigged some sort of platform to put in front of the cockpit to rest a couple collapsible pots on while paddling. I've typically borrowed big sit on top recreational kayaks for crabbing out in trinidad harbor and such, but it'd be awesome if anyone has any advice on rigging something on a smaller sea kayak. The main issue, it the top of the kayak is angled and not flat, so I'd need some sort of platform contraption. Any help is greatly appreciated, cheers!

Maybe rig some kind of an outrigger platform.  I do alot of yak crabbing and imagine it'd be tough from a sit in yak. Not impossible tho.

My biggest fear would be yak stability while pulling the pots.

I will try and find some pics. At past Crabfest we have had sea Kayakers use a pvc frame to hold their traps.

You might consider making some inexpensive outriggers to add stability for crabbing. 4 foot by 6 inches foam and set aft of your paddle stroke finish would give a great deal more stability to a SIK used for crabbing. Extra deck weight will upset center of gravity on a SIK.

Prior to this computer, I had an article from a guy in WA who used a SIK who crabbed.  THought it wasn't the safest method.  There is a guy on you tube who kayaks for lobsters in SIK up in New England.  A lobster trap, IMHO opinion would be harder in many ways than a crab trap.  wieght alone would make them a PITA.
