Got home from AZ. Yesterday, and today, we got my wifes birthday present delivered, a spankin new whirlpool dual oven range!  Took bout hour to convert it to propane, while I was installing the propane kit, my neighbor came over to help me start tearing out our old carpet in preparations for installing the laminate flooring we got 3 years ago!  He was able to strip out about 1/4 of the crap carpet. Before our oven arrived, we headed off to HD to purchase new roofing stuff!  Will be delivered in 2 weeks.  Got new asphalt shingles, roofing felt, some window tape (Rubberized sticky stuff) some flashing, and some other stuff.  Got home and started stripping areas of our roof the hell off!
I have 3 separate layers of asphalt shingles to dig down through to remove, and 4 layers roofing felt!
I also found water damage in 2 places, so I get to do some repairs oh bouy.
After the last 8 inches of rain we got (Seemed all on our house) 3 new leaks arrived through the roof, 2 on the front side, 1 new one in our bathroom at the motorized vent.
Hands are beat up, wore out a pair of jeans.
Busted out the compound miter saw for the flooring, and will do a little bit on the floor after work each day.  Busy day for me!

I'm feeling your pain. Got 800sq ft of 3/4" oak flooring that needs to go down. Ripping up carpet, pergo, & some tile. Plus taking down a wall & some repainting of ceilings & walls. Already crawled under the TIGHT crawlspace & laid out 1000sq ft of 6ml plastic. Pulled out the fridge, dishwasher, & stove today. I was lazy when I put the pergo down 13 years ago & just laid it over the top of some old vinyl & osb board. I think that osb board I pulled out today must have had 3 two inch staples per square inch! Wish I would have tore that out when I was 13 years younger. Taking forever but I'm almost done with that part.

Have fun & good luck with your projects!  jim

After opening up my roof in a few spots I discovered that the roofing cap (3/8" plywood) was totally rotted away.  The shot 2872 is showing what used to be 2X6 tong & groove soffit. That'll need fixin!  Also determined that half of my roof sheeting is 3/8's inch ply on the front, the back half is 1/2" ply. WTH where they thinking when whoever it was that refurbished my place in the 80's (Original place was built in 1960)
So far, the only repairs needed appear to be on the front side.  Oh and the roof has Styrofoam panels for some insulation under the 3/8" ply.  (The white stuff in pic 2871)  I suspect all this damage to the roof deck and the soffit came from the chimney (Just out of the shot  to the right on 2873)  It had proper flashing, but there were cracks! Nothing 3 gallons of roof tar wont fix now  :smt044
Got me work cut out.  Oh and I have to start laying my "Treadmaster" planks after work each day!
