I had an awsome time. The sea and wind were very calm. Caught some bait on the way to Dux reef (tiny chovies or 8" king fish and perch, not much in between). I didn't bring home any fish, but got an 18' halibut and my buddy who has never fished the ocean and has been in a kayak once before, caught a 13" cabazon. I hooked something BIG on a 7" king fish and as it started taking drag, it broke off. Apparently I tied a bad knot :smt013. Then we drifted along Stinson just beyond the surf for a couple of hours with strip bait, and then with the one perfect sized smelt I got, and didn't get a bite.

Flipped the boat during my first ever entry through surf. Lost no gear, easy re-entry. My buddy who came along in my SIS boat, capsized twice. But we enjoyed it all thoroughly!
