I grew up paddling canoes and I bought my first canoe when I was 15 years old and it was great until I traded it for a kayak back in 2005. No big deal to me if people don't know any better- kind of like the difference between football and soccer...

BLASPHEMY Jim!

Berta just called the paddle an oar and she knows better. It fell over out in the garage and took out my minnow tank, battery, and a few other things. Oops.

I used to call my kayak a paddleboard, because that's what it was until SUP's came along.
When was the first time you saw a "kayak"? What year? Just wondering? I got my first one in 1976!
My brother and I would  dive and fish and NEVER see a kayak in Monterey.

Happened to me at the gas station a couple weeks ago (someone pumps our gas for us in Oregon). The guy hit his head on my "canoe" as he was walking around. It doesnt bother me nearly as much as when people call my truck a car. It is a small 2 wheel drive nissan, but still a truck.

So true Dat!    Slow coming, but look at us now.
My first was an inflatable..  Jaws was just released, and I wanted something  to get my legs out of the water while ablalone diving...  Hahaha... like it would have made a difference.
