$449 today only.  Decent price if you're looking for one with the 50/200 ducer.  Remember this won't have downscan unless you get a structure scan.

Great Deal!

The 50/200 won't make for the "ideal" kayak transducer setup but some of you have boats for ocean fishing & this will be a great unit for that!

That is a Great Deal!  I have my HDS 5 Gen 1 working on my kayak, but I haven't installed the StructureScan Unit.  Yet.   :smt003.

For most kayakers, the Structure Scan for the HDS (assuming you want left/Right/Down) is just too cumbersome for a kayaker.  The transducer alone is nearly a foot long.

Oh I know.  I was thinking about rigging it up as a temporary thing.  I was going to throw the unit down inside the hatch and run the transducer off an arm on the side.  I'm thinking it will probably need a second battery as well to run the StructureScan unit.  It would just be neat to be able to use it in some of the High Sierra lakes around here.

That package with transducer (to hook to your existing HDS) is about $800 (MSRP).  Sounds like it would work.  Someone sent me a picture of a Hobie PA with one of these on the stern.  Pretty cool!

I have an HDS5 Gen 1 and a Gen 2 and love it.  I use a shoot through hole tranducer and it seems to work fine.  That is a good price for this unit.
