While I was up in Oregon for my last work trip I stopped at a military surplus store and found a neat little "Dump bag" I brought it home, and then started to wonder what I'd use it for. (A little backwards thinking I know, its a cool little bag :smt044) I know I'll start kayak in camping again, at some point, so this, new little bag will be part to that.  I came across my brand new Grilliput grill while in my shed, (Thanks to pictures from Mooch's Man Dawg's cookout on Loch Lomond when it was open) I purchased my Grilliput from RIE back then.  I also got a "Compact Fire bowl" for it.  Well it turns out the fire bowl (Looks like one of those metal steamer things that opens and closes) fits in my new "Dump bag" perfectly!
The bag has a pocket on the front and I'm thinking it'll hold fire making items, or seasonings?  2 small covered side pockets, maybe I'll have a flashlight in one?  Fire tinder case (Old Pill bottle with cotton balls in the other)

There so many MOLLE pouches out there, you can go crazy on them.  I got a bunch that go on my camel back.  Looks like you got a good set up!

I recently got a nice pack (Condor 3 day assault) I plan to make into a emergency bag for me & wife. Only real emergencies I can see happening in my area are, earthquake, tree falling house, or fire.  After playing with it, I want to change out my laptop carry bag now!  Condor has one that'll work perfectly, it their Venture bag.  I played with an OD green one in a surplus store in San Jose last week. I don't want a OD green bag, had that pack been tan, I'd have it already!
Agreed on the many different bags & pouches.  I go crazy thinking of all the possibilities for each one as I'm drooling on them. (Worse than my wife in a chocolate store!) :smt007
First aid pouches, fire making pouches, fishing pouch, TP pouch, food, cooking kit, (Got part of that covered already)

love stuff like that. I picked up a maxpedition rolly poly bag. Super compact and attaches to belt, etc. I use it for bike rides with kids - straps to the handle bars, a shot shell pouch when shooting clays, awesome for those day hikes when you find cool stuff on the trail and beach. Big fan of multi task items.

Is this the same process that women go through when they see a new purse at the store?

Think its cool, buy it and figure out later what to put in it?   :smt044
