Heading in to SF tomorrow for the Manowar show at the Regency. Where should I be looking to park? Suggestions on food in the immediate area? Never been to that part of the city. Flying solo so I won't be wandering too far.

Anyone going to the show also?

Theres usually street parking within a few blocks of there, but lots of auto break ins as well.  If you do park in the street, do not leave anything in the car.  There will likely be street parking around franklin and o'farrell or geary.

There are also some parking garages in the area - under the movie theater at van ness and o'farrell, or japantown several blocks away.

Food is ok at Tommy's joynt if you like meat and potatoes, cafeteria style.

Polk Street a block from the regency has a ton of restaurants.  Go north from the regency down polk street you will probably find something, or go over to japantown.

Parking info with garage locations and meters app. and hours.

There are meters there that you can pay through your phone with an app. You can feed your meter remotely which is pretty cool.

+1 on Tommy's Joynt...haufbrau style food.

You could also go to the mitchel bros. ofarrel theater afterwards  :smt002

General rule of thumb in that area,  up hill = nicer and safer to leave a car. And leaving things visible in the car is not a good idea.

Plenty food in the area too, just depends on what you want and what time you are there.
Shalimar is good cheap indian pakistan food that I cant take my wife too due to lack of "ambiance", but love to go there by myself.

have fun!

The Grubstake on Polk and Pine is a good late night eats.  Better than Tommys Joynt.  House of Prime Rib stays open fairly late and they will hit the spot everytime if your a meat eater.  There are lots of good eats on Polk st.

Personally I have never really found San Francisco that dangerous even in the Tenderloin.  I have walked all over SF late at night after 2:00 etc. and it doesn't even compare to walking around in cities like Houston late at night.
