Yesterday was my personal best for my first crabbing season.  Late Thursday afternoon I had dropped a Danielson trap and a Promar hoop trap when a Coast Guard boat directed its searchlight at me as a warning that it was time to get off the water so I left both traps overnight.  Of course I wasn't expecting anything from the hoop trap when I went back yesterday afternoon but there was a small rock crab and a keeper dungee in it because there was still some bait (chicken legs) in it.  My Danielson had a dozen crabs including five male keeper dungees and a big male rock crab.  I had a crab feast last night and gave some to my neighbors.  I guess I was just lucky because another kayak crabber only got one keeper dungee from his two traps overnight.

Great on the crabs! I need to get back to Doran for some crab bin. I was there for the Crabfest and I need to hit it again.

Thanks for the report YnF.  Were they heavy or softies?

There were no softies.  They were fairly heavy and a couple of them were about 7 inchers.

My traps were about 200 yards to the left of the jetty and about 100 yards beyond the end of the jetty.
