My neighbor caught a glimpse of 3 wild turkeys strolling up his yard the other day.  Since we moved in to our place we've never seen turkeys.  I know there around as I see them all the time in Quail Hollow out in the open, at the dump, but never expected to see them in the forest. about an hour after he took this photo, the got to see a Bobcat walk down his yard (Opposite travel of the turkeys)

They're taking over the whole state, I've lived in the same area for 59 yrs, 10 yrs ago, none.  Last summer I counted a flock of 26 in the street in front of my house.

I don't know where they go but certain times of the year they're everywhere around my neighborhood, then they're gone for months, but back again with chicks in the spring.

On the upside, 5 years ago I had so many snails in my yard I couldn't walk across my lawn without crunching several with every step, Now I have almost none. Of course when the turkeys are around the lawn has land mines.

Water isn't an issue where I live so maybe they migrate for food?
