Excited as i launched from Richmond Park, thoughts of the previous trip urging me on.
Alas, not too good a trip. The shad were there but not bunched up like last time. The bass weren't bunched up either, or busting. Lots of powerboats, duh, it's a weekend.
I saw some nice fish under docks and tried to tempt them with a freshly gigged shad but the dinks always took first.
Lots of dinks today. No topwater action, some fish dropshotting tiny brush-hogs.
At least I now know another access point.
Fish-on
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I must have just missed you out there. I launched from richmond park at 6:00ish (pm) and was off the water by 9:00.
Had a similiar experience except I never found the shad.  started out with the rip bait again with no hook ups for the first hour. Then I went to the faithful green pumpkin senko and brought in 3 VERY small LM.
Just before heading in, I hooked a 12'' LM on the rip bait.  I figured that it being saturday, the lake got alot of pressure. Had PBs around my usual haunts and  if you had fished the same spots earlier, Im blaming you for my limited  success. But im glad you found richmund park, it really is the full service put in.
At least we both got in on the action earlier in the week when it was really on.
Headed to upper Blue Lake on monday afternoon/evening.
