Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Right now I'm shooting all manual except the ISO is automatically picked.

for 'nature' (more specifically wildlife images), i look to shoot a the lowest ISO I can get way with when shooting with a with the largest aperture and fastest shutter speed; i use to get wicked DOF shots!!!!

and for those once in a life time scenaries, don't forget to "bracket" your shots; sometime I go +/- 2 on each shot.... just in case....

When do you go that far on the bracket?  For most of the outdoor fishing shots, I sometimes am down to the minimum +/- 1/3 and never go beyond +/- 1.

When shooting Raw, you can usually make adjustments to +\- 1 stop; +/- 2 let's me do more with HDR...

But my true love is medium and large format B&W photography.....

Digital? The cameras must be super pricey.

Ive been reading about HDR and thought that was only for JPEG's.  Bracketing is the same thing but can work for Raw as well??  How do you combine the images to get the most dynamic range?

I shoot a Hasselblad for my Medium format camera...

And Howard, I shoot old school stuff; film baby!!!!

in Adobe Photoshop; you can use 3 images, but i have used up to 7 (+2, +1, normal, -1, -2). If 'bracketing' in "Manual" mode, make sure you keep you Aperture the same in every shot, bracket with the shutter; if not, the DOF will change in each shot and it wont work.

When edit/manipulating images for publication; I only use .jpgs for quick & dirty posts and for viewing composure.

jpgs have already been compressed and re-imaged (based on you setting) by the camera; and once you start editing an 'edited' image, you start to get the "halo" effect around objects and people.

I donated my Mamiya M645 1000s film camera to San Jose State last year. It was one of Mamiya's first medium format cameras. Loved using it but film was becoming scarce and I didn't have my B&W darkroom material anymore. 40 plus years old.

I still enjoy shooting 2-1/4 Twin Lens Reflex every now & then.  Haven't shot much of it since I sold off my B&W darkroom though.  Ahhh ... the good ol' days of handheld light meters, film & not knowing if you got a useable shot or not till you had it developed.
