I really wouldn't be surprised if it was just a seagull carrying a bag it thought had something good in it. I have seen them dropping crabs and mussels before over by the wharf. And I came across this..

Just my imagination but maybe there was a bag with bait and garbage in it and a seagull picked it up and dropped it because it was to heavy. I have seen seagulls fly off with peoples garbage all the time.

I hope it wasn't someone but I guess we will never know.

Ya know,  That makes sense,,,  when it hit, there was all kinds of "Gooky" water and crap that seemed like bait or some sort of disgusting mess.  That's what seem to make sense that it was a giant crap from some bird..

But it also makes sense that someone had a bunch of bait in a bag held down by a rock inside.  I mean,  How could one even throw a bag of liquids with a rock inside anyway?

Which brings to me an observation about myself,  looks like the only "Jerk" might just have been me….   :smt083

I have a full blown DX of PTSD,  I'm not shy about speaking to others about it as I have found,  the best way to battle it is to talk about it; especially with others who have it…

a little more of the puzzle coming together as to why I work so hard with HOW ?

This incident with whatever hit my truck is a prime example of what can trigger it ( PTSD ).  The reactions from an individual with PTSD are not the same as a normal person with given same event…

Looking at the replies from y'all,  your sympathetic and most would respond in anger towards this situation,  But here is where PTSD is different,  there is no 1 through 10 emotional reactions towards stressful events or even surprises.  I just go to 11.  I may even handle a situation with extreme grace and control,  but there is a tornado inside that not only wants to solve the situation,  but burry it dead…  :angry1:

It's a fight inside to control my emotions and to see things for what they really are.  To control those feelings of intensity that got me through extreme situations of the past,  that are not necessary now, or inappropriate.

I am doing well,  but I by no means am perfect and I do apologize to the board for even thinking that one of us would do such a thing.

I'm writing this to not only apologize to the board,  but to also give some insight to what PTSD actually is;  I'm no professional, I'm just living it…

But think about this as your out in your day and come across a guy ( possibly a recent returning warrior post 8 deployments to Afghanistan ) in the supermarket express line marked 10 items or less behind someone with 15 and he's getting pissed…   :smt011

This Warrior may not even be aware he has a PTSD disease,  he's just pissed off and getting more pissed off, he has killed before,  see's it a rational solution to maybe not kill this shopper, but do some serious damage.  This of course does not fly in a civilized society so this leads to legal trouble, probably already has trouble at home with his out of control anger,  job probably is not doing so well either,  he or she is just a mess of extreme emotions of hostility, despair and guilt and does not know what to do.  Honor, courage and devotion to duty are something of the past,  they do not want to seek help as it's just seen as a weakness.  They will isolate, become further depressed and if they do not seek help, likely will circle the drain to hell, suicide or worse.  Happens everyday on a average of 18 to 22 vets a day….    :smt011

As for me,  no, that's not me I just described,  but I do have my issues and understand this path that many take without help. As a matter of fact, today is my 2 year university of being in the back of a police car after pushing my ex-neighbor around for threatening to kill my other 60 year old female neighbor. This guy is a total Asshole and One thing I can't tolerate are those that victimize children or violence against women.  But, due to my uncontrolled PTSD anger,  I got into trouble.  Thank God, all of it got thrown out of court and I learned another valuable lesson,  but just goes to show,  work in progress…

Look at our buddy Aaron with a murder suicide,  the guy who just shot a guy in a movie theater for texting.. ( that's understandable… joking of course )  but,  there it is,  PTSD may be a great buzz word at the moment and

      " Support the troops! "  sounds good…

But this problem is going to be here for a long time and we got a whole fresh batch of young men and women we sent off to a meat grinder that are coming back and not too cherry about it…   :tongue2:

Thanks for the read,  maybe I'm off, it's just how I feel… and here's pitch if ya want to do something about this….

Become a Volunteer with Nor Cal HOW….

It helps the troops, first responders and ya just might be surprised what it will do for you….

Thanks again to best people on earth,

  Kayak Fishing people...

  Ciao!     :smt006

if your interested in knowing a little more of just how intense this problem is and how it effects someone…  take a look at this video made with some of the first responders I volunteer with at a PTSD retreat for First Responders and Military…  you'll probably never look at Police, Fire Fighters or Military the same…

  Disclaimer,  it's pretty tough stuff…

Probably this... Didn't see anyone roaming around...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

dude! don't be so hard on yourself. If I had thought some person or even a damn bird had damaged my truck I would have been extremely pissed off & I think most folks would be.

If it makes you feel any better I also had my vehicle damaged recently & I guarantee you I was just as pissed. I took my truck to the dealer for preventative repairs, timing belt etc, & one of their employees took it thru their car wash by mistake. That resulted in my Thule roof racks being ripped off my camper shell, the side windows on the campershell smashed in, glass all over inside the bed, the roof & side of the cab & shell all ripped up, & WHEN THE DUMBASS PANICED & FLOORED IT IN REVERSE & HIT A POLE TRYING TO GET IT OUT OF THE CARWASH, a huge dent in the side of the pickup bed. Luckily they have an awesome in house auto body repair facility, they fixed my truck up better than it was before, bought me new Thule mounts, & didn't charge me for $700 in my repairs labor. But I do remember being really angry right when they called me on the phone & broke the bad news to me.

You might just never really know what happened and that is hard to process. Upon reading your original post I envisioned all the unknown faces at the jetty pick nick tables and what they might have had in their hands. I have a sort of conditioned tendency toward aggression I work on myself. You have the love and support of the group and that I hope helps. Much respect for your desire to protect your family and your maturity to take good care of your health. You aren't a jerk; proud to belong to a group of which you are a member
wishing you peace of mind, Amos
