After reading about the herring showing up in some spots I made my first attempt at herring this afternoon at McNears Pier.  It wasn’t the best timing because today incoming tide didn’t start until after 5pm when the park closes.  I got there at 4pm and had the pier to myself.  I threw a sabiki rig until 4:50 but didn’t get a bite.  At least the weather was nice and it got quiet after the nearby rock crusher stopped at 4:45!
