Hey guys,

Looking into getting my hands on one of these next off season. Wedding in July preventing us from buying today, but really want this for the comfort level, enjoy camping all year and this will probably be a little warmer without getting to the point were we spend all day in the damn thing and still able to enjoy nature.

So my question to the folks that have them. How do you like them?

Thanks
Rhyak

It's like getting married, you need to commit to them.  If you don't, they end up sitting in your driveway covered with a tarp.

I had one .... sat in the driveway for a few months .... never used it, sold it.  They ARE compact & don't take too long to set up.  Yeah, they are not something you want to "hang out" in all day like a larger camper or RV.

I use mine roughly 6  times a year. it does take some work but when you have little ones , it sure helps to have a place to shut them down for a while at night.  I will most likley sell mine in a few years and upgrade to a toy hauler since I am having to bring more crap camping now. If you can organize everything , it does help out and makes putting up and taking down much easier.  It does haul kayaks nice a on top along with a bikes and crab gear

We've had ours close to three years now and really enjoy it. The only real bad time was in the wind at last years Crabfest.
Easy to tow and store in the garage. Downside is they aren't secure. It's like having a tent on wheels.

We had a small older one and just upgraded. Easy to tow, not a ton of maintenance. I am done with tents. We've even taken it to visit family when the house was full. Kids LOVE it.  I was also happy to see the resale value holds up

They are not bad unless your in bear country. There are places you can't camp with soft sides around the yellow stone area.

One important thing is to rarely cook strongly aromatic foods inside, and here in CA it is suggested (strongly) to never cook fish inside the camper.  The oils will collect on the fabric and in bear areas it is known to attract bears.  When I lived in Fresno and worked near Yosemite/Kings Canyon I saw several pop-ups torn open by bears while the people were away.  But in my opinion, this is an easy concession.  I camp in mine 6-8 times a year and have never found it onerous to not cook fish inside.

I have a Coleman tent trailer.
Make sure you get one with a aluminum roof, you do NOT want a Coleman or Fleetwood tent trailer that has a plastic or composite roof or whatever the hell they were made of.
