My Bitch Has Worms!

Hi All! I just recently found some type of worm in my Shih Tzu feces. It looked like peaces of moving white rice and there were only like three that i could see. I wasn't sure what they were so I looked it up in google and what i found was the description of a tape worm. I was just wondering if anybody ever had this experience with there canine and how to treat it with out  having to spend hundreds of dollars at veterinarian .  I know that Pet Smart sales pet meds but not sure which one to buy. Theres so many to chose from. Any information on this subject would be helpfull and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely
AlexV

This is my bitch MILA

Tape worms are easy to kill with an over the counter wormer. My dog gets them too.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Tapeworms may be indicative of a flea problem.  When my cats had fleas, they had tapeworms.  Had to treat them for both, as well as bomb the house for fleas.

Its super common and not a big deal bro.  Call your vet and ask for the meds.  My vet is cheaper then the per store for the pill but yours might not be.  Also make sure you put front line on yo bitch, cause they get the worms from ingesting fleas and/or flea eggs.  Tell that bitch to BE COOL!

Whatever you do, dont waste your money on the kind walmart sells. Go to a feed supply store and get the triple wormer and it will be the end of them. A little more expensive but wont regret the results. I live on 60 acres and have 7 dogs. We have been through this before and until we used the mentioned triple wormer, was always repeating itself. Just make sure the dosage is correct for the pooch. Good luck.

Before you buy any over the counter meds. Do a google search for side effects and reveiws. The hartz brand frontline knock off almost killed my mother in laws dog about a month ago.

Just watch her butt for white spots. My dog gets tapeworms periodically, but has never had fleas. They can also get tapeworms from eating dead things that had tapeworms (like birds), contacting feces infected with spores, etc. Dogs put a lot of crap in their mouths.  :smt044

one treatment is all we have ever done. sometimes they recommend a 10 day follow up treatment but have never done it and has never been needed.
